 GEM DESKTOP

To  install extended-display drivers for GEM, You will  need  GEM
Desktop release 3.x  and  GEMVP.EXE. Before  you can install the
extended-display drivers for the graphics adapter, make sure have
already installed GEM on your hard disk drive.  Also need prepare
one GEM&VP driver diskette from extract the GEM&VP.EXE.

GEM 3.x
-------
1.  Insert your original GEM System Master Diskette in  drive  A,
type:

GEMSETUP [Enter]

2.Select in order: a: Change Existing Configuration, b: Continue,
c: Change Your Current Setup, and d: the listed graphics and card
display.

3.  When  you  are prompted to choose a  new  graphics  card  and
display, select Other Pack and insert  GEM&VP Drivers Diskette in
drive A.

4. Select a High resolution display driver.

5.  Continue  with  the rest opf the  GEMSETUP  programe.  Please
consult your GEM manual for more info on the GEMSETUP program.

 VENTURA PUBLISHER
===================
To install extended-display drivers for Xerox Ventura  Publisher,
you should have Ventura Plublisher release 2.0 already  installed
on your hard disk drive. You will also need prepare GEM&VP driver
diskette from EXTRACT GEM&VP.EXE.
Follow the following steps to install Extended VGA mode driver:

1. Follow the Ventura installation instructions.

2. When you are asked to select a video display, choose
        IBM Personal System/2 (640x480) two colors. (Ver 1.1)
        IBM VGA or compatible (640x480) two colors. (Ver 2.0)

3. Complete VP installation and see that it is work properly using
the installed IBM driver.

4. Exit VP and insert GEM&VP Driver Diskette in Drive A:

5. Log onto driver A and type VP
Insert Driver & Utility Disk #1 into drive A and type:

        VPDRV2_0 [Enter]

6. Indicate whether drive your Ventura program is stored on.

7. Indicate whether or not you are using the Ventura  Publisher
Professional Extension.

8. Select one of the display modes listed.

9. Indicate the type of mouse you are using and, if necessary, to
which I/O port (i.e. COM1, COM2, etc) the mouse is connected.

10. Confirm your choices to complate the installation.

If you want to reconfigure for a different display mode, you will
need to repeat this entire installation procedure.
